I started this blog as a part of my Digital Media Convergence class at Elon University during my freshman year. I have continued to update it with links to articles I’ve written for Elon’s student newspaper, The Pendulum, as well as another publication I write for, HerCampus.com.

You can read my newer articles at gabrielareports.wordpress.com and you can follow my study abroad blog at itwillnotabandonme.wordpress.com.

  1. Gabriela,

I really like your writing here and on HerCampus. Based on what you are covering I wanted to reach out to your on a cool tool that I think your readers would find very useful:

CampusBooks (http://www.campusbooks.com/) a textbook price comparison site, iPhone and Android app.

I’m sure you get these queries all the time. So here’s a quick reason why our app deserves to be reviewed:

    1) We are a startup run by recent college graduates.
    2) We use the same barcode scanning technology that got Half.com’s iPhone app written in TechCrunch this morning – http://techcrunch.com/2010/08/16/ebays-new-iphone-app-helps-students-compare-buy-textbooks-on-half-com/.
    3) We compare prices from 40+ textbook retail and rental websites.
    4) We use geolocation technology to tell a student if the book is availible at bookstores and libraries around them. This is the kicker. A student can scan a barcode at the bookstore and find the book is available to loan from the library free.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
